The 1993 Columbia City High School football team brought home the first-ever sectional football title in Eagles history. At the time of the accomplishment, the team also held the record for most wins in a single season, and the senior class held the record for most wins over a four-year period.
Notable individual records from that team included Jason Dohm (most tackles for a loss and most single-season tackles), Gary Archbold (third-most tackles in a season), Brian Beltz (most single-season punt-return yards and longest kickoff return), Di Schuman (most single-season PATs, second in career PATs, second in single-season field goals, and first in career field goals), Chad Stahl (most single-game receiving yards), Cory Sievers (second-most career rushing yards and fourth all-time in career scoring), and Adam Goss (second-most single-season passing yards, first in career passing yards, and first in single-season and career passing touchdowns).

A 2006 CCHS graduate and multi-sport athlete, Ashley Emerick amassed nine varsity letters. In track and field she was a star in the high jump, a three-time conference champion, four-time sectional champion, three-time regional champion, three-time state medalist (fourth, fourth, and seventh), and four-time state qualifier, and she still holds the CCHS high jump record at 5 feet 7 inches. In basketball she was a two-time second-team all-conference selection and led the Lady Eagles in blocked shots as a junior and senior.
At Indiana University she became IU's first Big Ten champion in the high jump in 2009, won two Big Ten titles along with silver and bronze medals, was a three-time NCAA qualifier, and earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships. A four-time USATF Championships qualifier who placed eighth nationally at the 2010 USATF Outdoor Championships, she received the 2009 Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award and remains IU's high jump record holder at 1.85 meters.

A 2011 CCHS graduate, Logan Rehrer was a seven-time varsity letter winner in football and baseball and one of the most accomplished football players in school history. He holds CCHS records for career and single-season passing yards, single-season passing touchdowns, career and single-season completions, single-season completion percentage, and single-game passing yards, and ranks second all-time in career passing touchdowns and total offense and eighth in career rushing touchdowns.
In 2010 he helped lead the Eagles to the NHC Conference title, the program's first in more than 20 years. He continued his football career at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.

A 2014 CCHS graduate, Kalisha Starks was a 10-time varsity letter winner in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. In volleyball she was a three-time first-team all-conference and one-time second-team all-conference selection and a three-time All-Northeast Indiana honoree, and she still holds the school records for digs in a game (56) and career digs (931). In track and field she qualified for the IHSAA State Finals in the long jump and was a first-team all-conference long jumper as a sophomore. In 2013 she was named Whitley County Female Athlete of the Year and received the prestigious Tina Parker Memorial Honor Tray in 2014.
At Ohio State University she earned a volleyball scholarship and was part of three straight Sweet 16 appearances. A three-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient and four-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, she received the 2017 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. She later coached NCAA Division I volleyball at the University of Akron and the University of Idaho, and now works as a recruiting consultant and private coach in Columbia City.

A 2000 CCHS graduate, Lewis Fuller earned six varsity letters in football and basketball and remains one of the most productive players in program history. He holds the records for most career kickoff returns for touchdowns and most single-season kickoff returns for touchdowns, and ranks second all-time in career kickoff-return yards, fourth in career receptions, fourth in career and single-season receiving yards, fourth in single-season all-purpose yards, fifth in career all-purpose yards, and sixth in single-season receptions.
After his senior season he was named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association All-State team. At the University of Saint Francis he competed in football and track and field, breaking the indoor 200-meter school record and earning academic all-conference football honors as a senior.
