Chris Benedict served as head boys' basketball coach from 1996 to 2007 and again from 2010 to 2016, leading the Eagles to 291 wins. His teams won six sectional titles, three regional titles, one semi-state title, and a state runner-up finish. He was named the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2004, coached the Indiana Junior All-Stars in 2003, and coached the Indiana Senior All-Star team in 2005.
Coach Benedict served the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association as a district representative, vice-president, president, and past-president over 12 years. He has amassed 437 career wins, which at the time of his induction ranked 15th among active coaches in the state of Indiana.

A 2006 CCHS graduate, Jason Foor rewrote the Columbia City baseball record book, setting school records for most hits in a season, most home runs in a season, most RBIs in a season, most career hits, most career doubles, most career home runs, most career RBIs, and best career batting average.
In 2006 he was named to the Indiana All-Star team and selected first-team all-state.

Steve Cox served as head softball coach from 2000 to 2014, following five seasons as an assistant from 1995 to 1999, leading the Lady Eagles to 277 wins as head coach. His teams won six conference titles, seven sectional titles, and two regional titles.
A three-time Conference Coach of the Year, Coach Cox led the Indiana All-Star Softball Team and, in 2004, was named ICGSA District Coach of the Year. He coached seven individual Indiana All-Stars during his tenure.

A 2004 CCHS graduate, Marcus Moore earned eight varsity letters in basketball and tennis. A three-time all-conference selection, he was named Conference Player of the Year in 2003 and selected to the IBCA All-Star Team as a junior. He helped lead the Eagles to the 2001 regional title and the 2004 state runner-up finish, compiling a combined 65–9 record.
At Grace College he was a four-time all-conference recipient and an NAIA and NCCAA All-American, graduating as the No. 2 all-time scorer in school history with 2,351 points. He later returned to CCHS to help guide the boys' tennis program to its first sectional title in 2011, and in 2021 was named the NCCAA National Women's Tennis Coach of the Year. He is the all-time wins leader for the Grace College tennis program.

A 1982 CCHS graduate, Trisha Sittler earned six varsity letters in basketball and volleyball. She was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-area selection in basketball, and in 1982 was named the 21-Alive Player of the Year, an Academic All-State honoree, and a member of the Indiana All-Star team. She helped lead the Lady Eagles to three sectional titles and two regional titles, including a 24–1 record her senior year. In volleyball she was an all-area selection and led the program to three sectional titles.
At Central Michigan University she was a three-time All-MAC Academic honoree and two-time Academic All-American, helping the team to two conference titles and two NCAA tournament bids, and she ranks eighth all-time in career field-goal percentage. After college, Trisha taught for 32 years in Whitley County Consolidated Schools.
