Ashley (Rhoades) Emerick

A 2006 CCHS graduate and multi-sport athlete, Ashley Emerick amassed nine varsity letters. In track and field she was a star in the high jump, a three-time conference champion, four-time sectional champion, three-time regional champion, three-time state medalist (fourth, fourth, and seventh), and four-time state qualifier, and she still holds the CCHS high jump record at 5 feet 7 inches. In basketball she was a two-time second-team all-conference selection and led the Lady Eagles in blocked shots as a junior and senior.

At Indiana University she became IU's first Big Ten champion in the high jump in 2009, won two Big Ten titles along with silver and bronze medals, was a three-time NCAA qualifier, and earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish at the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships. A four-time USATF Championships qualifier who placed eighth nationally at the 2010 USATF Outdoor Championships, she received the 2009 Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award and remains IU's high jump record holder at 1.85 meters.
