Fifty-six (56) persons
attended The WHITLEY COUNTY, INDIANA "SNOWBIRD" LUNCHEON' on
Tuesday March 04, 2014 at HOMER's ORIGINAL SMORGASBORD in
SEBRING, FLORIDA
Guests begin arriving from
all over WHITLEY COUNTY around 11:00 am and spent time
reminiscing and visiting with each other. There was lots of
fellowship and smiles as Whitley County guests, some
fulltime Florida residents and some six-month "Snowbirds"
and some "Snowflakes" (less than two months). Everyone
enjoyed the warm sunny weather and were happy not to be "Up
North" due to the snow and cold temperatures this year.
The
Whitley County Luncheon is the expansion of the CCHS ALUMNI
ASSOCIATION brunches started 14 years ago in Florida.
With so
many families from the WC area visiting or living in Florida
in the winter months, the central location of Sebring, FL.
is ideal.
Homers
has fine foods at a very reasonable price.
All present were greeted and
welcomed by host Don Wineland, a Whitley County , resident
and a "Snowbird". Don has attended the FLORIDA events for
the past eight years. Don was assisted with the help of
hostess Rosalie Kay Farber Shoda Kleespie. Those attending
this year's events came from Columbia City, Churubusco and
South Whitley area. There were two guests from Warsaw.
Next
year's "WHITLEY COUNTY LUNCHEON" will be held again at
Homer's in Sebring on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
